BOYNEXTDOOR Faces Backlash in Thailand Over Concert Cancellation and Airport Cart Controversy

On March 28, 2025, Thailand experienced a powerful 7.7-magnitude earthquake, causing severe damage and casualties across the country. In light of the natural disaster, BOYNEXTDOOR’s March 29 concert in Bangkok was officially canceled. However, the way the cancellation was handled sparked outrage among fans.
Confusion and Lack of Communication
The situation escalated when the ticket organizers initially posted a cancellation notice—only to quickly delete it. Fans were left in limbo, unsure whether the concert was still on. It was later revealed that KOZ Entertainment had allegedly instructed the organizers to retract the announcement temporarily. A revised cancellation notice was only re-posted after the group had secured flights and were already on their way to the airport.

This delay in communication angered fans, especially those who had traveled from other regions or countries to attend the show. Many argued that the company showed more concern for the artists’ departure logistics than the safety and clarity for their supporters. While some defended the decision as a precaution to avoid airport chaos, others emphasized that the real issue wasn’t the cancellation itself—but the lack of transparency and regard for fans’ well-being.
Airport Cart Incident Adds Fuel to the Fire
The situation further deteriorated when a fan accused BOYNEXTDOOR’s management of commandeering a pre-booked airport buggy. The fan claimed they had reserved a cart service in advance to help them and their group move quickly through customs and security. They had even provided photos to the airport staff for identification.

However, upon arriving at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport, the fan reported that BOYNEXTDOOR’s manager approached them, asked them to leave, and then took over the buggy. The staff, allegedly under pressure, entered the fan’s reserved cart and another nearby, transporting BOYNEXTDOOR instead. The fans were left to walk the entire route, only receiving assistance after the staff returned from dropping off the idols.
Although the fan did receive a refund, the incident fueled criticism that the group and their team acted entitled and disregarded others’ arrangements.
Fans React
While some fans expressed sympathy for the group having to navigate such a chaotic situation, many others were disappointed by how the company handled both the cancellation and the airport altercation.
One fan summed up the sentiment, “This isn’t about the concert being canceled. It’s about the complete lack of consideration for fans who traveled and waited in dangerous conditions.”
The controversies have sparked broader discussions about how entertainment agencies should handle emergencies abroad, with fans demanding better communication and respect from both idols and their management.
